Several months ago I mentioned that Brooke Jackson had been appointed a district judge for Jefferson County, Colo. A month after being sworn in, Brooke became part of the first threejudge panel in the state under a new law to conSider a death penalty case. The panel unanimously rejected the death penalty for the case under consideration. Talk about hitting the ground running!

In the October issue I mentioned that Mark Sheetz had given a talk about NATO. The brevity of my remarks prompted him to send me the complete text of this latest article that appeared in the summer issue of Security Studies. The title of the article is "Exit Strategies: American Grand Designs for Postwar European Security." I would quote from it but my word limit is fast approaching.
