Every year, the Dartmouth Club of Mexico awards a book to the outstanding junior at the American High School in Mexico City. In April, Rollin Kent '37 presented the award for the seventh consecutive year. Almost as if to celebrate the first year of women being admitted to Dartmouth, the American High School selected a girl to receive the award: Teresa Morales of Mexico City.

On May 20, the Club held its annual family picnic. This year Anita and JohnMcGrath '49 offered their spacious home and gardens in Mexico City for the event. On one of those rare days without rain during the rainy season, the group gathered for a unique picnic "Paella a la Valenciana" (a traditional Spanish dish) cooked over a wood fire outdoors. The picnic was an opportunity to bid farewell to Charlotteand Jay Stahl '52, who are returning to the U. S., and to welcome Elizabeth andJoe Ely '50 to Mexico.

Alumni and wives who gathered for the paella were: Barbara and Jesse Lichter '30, Belem and RolJin Kent '37, Louise and Tom Catron '45, Anita and John McGrath '49, Elizabeth and Joe Ely '50, Charlotte and Jay Stahl '52, Carolyne and Don Campbell '52, Nina and Skip Meneely Jr. '52, Anne and John Tansey '57, Maru and Bob Berg '59, Betsy and Jim Cornehlsen '64, and their house guest, Tish Rice, as well as many children of all ages.
