Recently, we elected officers for the coming year. Frank Curtis '36 was elected president to serve a term of his own. For some months he has been filling the unexpired term of Bob Woodruff '37, who has moved on to New York. Paul Lacke '46 is the new vice-president. Ed Daumit '60 was re-elected secretary, and Paul Stein '59 was re-elected treasurer.

We had an excellent time, as usual, at the annual picnic at the home of Tom Curtis '32 on September 5. The attendance outran expectations, and we ran out, first, of name tags, and later, of all things, beer. Also, the weatherman ran out of sunshine for the occasion, and the club photographer had to use flashbulbs. When the developed photographs turned out to have a black background, Bob Turner '33, who is always on hand with fine recommendations, suggested that, if the pictures appear in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE, I report that the reason for the background is that the picnic lasted far into the night. So that's how it was, kids. Never blame the weather or the photographer!

We are looking forward to a season full of action. Gene Gabienelli '53 is in charge of the enrollment committee this year, and promises to have the world's greatest selection of candidates. We are in the process of planning a convivial meeting with the local Cornells in connection with the annual football affair on November 13. Frank Curtis advises that a big occasion is in the making for March 21, with President Dickey as chief guest. Of course further information on this will be furnished through the usual channels in due course. Our regular monthly luncheons at the Cheshire have resumed. And I should mention our usual Thursday luncheons at the Statler; we are always glad to see people there.
