Just how many of our class attended that outstanding innovation, the Dartmouth Convocation on Great Issues at Hanover, I have not yet learned. Most regretfully, I was not able to be there myself. However, Roger and Jane Brown found it "really very much worth while." This may be a proper moment to remind you all that Roger will appreciate a prompt response to his request for class dues.

An interesting letter from Ned Estes reached me recently. He was rejoicing that the First Parish Church in Dover, N. H., was putting in a new organ for him. He has served there for ten years as Minister of Music. He notes that among the 52 relatives and friends who had signed his guest book last summer were two whom he had known at Robert College: Bradlee Watson '02, and Mrs. Alice B. Morgan. The latter, incidentally, won national fame by winning $32,000 in a $64,000 quiz program!

Our widely traveled Bob Falconer writes from Tryon, N. C., that he and Edna had been playing with the idea of further voyages, to the South Pacific Islands, but had pretty much decided to settle for a trip to Florida to look up Dartmouth friends in January. At the time of writing they were glorying in the autumnal coloration of their section of the Great Smokies and the Blue Ridge chain.

At New London, N. H., October 19, Dr. William Clough was among nine alumni of Colby Junior College (or the former Colby Academy) to receive a citation. The occasion was a special convocation and the citations were awarded in recognition of distinguished service to community, state or country. Congratulations, Bill!

Emily Day (widow of Rufus) has kindly informed me of the passing of their daughter, Betty. Permanently crippled at birth from the waist down, Betty nevertheless took a keen, lively interest in everything about her. She was constantly thoughtful of other people, was an avid sports fan and was a regular attendant at all Cornell games. She had a wide circle of devoted friends. A memorial service was held October 20 in Anabel Taylor Hall Chapel in Ithaca. Burial will be in Hanover next spring. Our deep sympathy goes to Emily in her sad loss.

I am happy to report that Walt Conley has made an excellent recovery. At the time of writing, Ethel told me by phone that he was up and about and able to get out-of-doors some.
