With the return of the Big Green football team to Philadelphia to play Penn, the Philadelphia Club played host at a post-game cocktail party at the Penn-Sherwood Hotel in West Philadelphia. Some 200 alumni, wives, undergraduates, and dates were on hand to enjoy the Dartmouth fellowship. Although we did not have a victory to celebrate, the game was a very close one.
The annual Dutch Treat Luncheon for undergraduates and their fathers and alumni will be held at the Engineers Club, 1317 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, on Thursday, December 27, at 12:30 p.m. We expect to have Roy F. Larson, prominent architect and member of the Philadelphia Art Commission, as our speaker. Mr. Larson, father of two Dartmouth sons, has had a great deal to do with the recent redevelopments in central Philadelphia.
President Dickey will be the speaker at the Club's 50th Anniversary Annual Dinner on Tuesday, January 8, 1957. Details on this event will be sent to all alumni in the Philadelphia area. We sincerely hope that our Philadelphia area alumni will turn out in full strength to make this 50th Anniversary Dinner our most successful Annual Dinner yet.
The season for enrollment work and interviewing prospective members of the Class of 1961 is upon us. There is always a need for more alumni to participate in this most worthwhile activity. Those interested in enrollment should contact Stew Young '50, our Local Enrollment Chairman, at RA 5-6060 during the day or at MO 4-3912 at home. Those interested in interviewing should contact Jim Tindle '36 at Berwyn 0960.
