At this moment, the writer's Vermont farm is being lashed with the heavy winds and rain of Hurricane "Carol." With the power off, the column is being written by old-fashioned oil lamp. In spite of these momentary handicaps, the coming season, as far as the North Jersey Club is concerned, promises to be most active.

Although last season saw a record-breaking 240-plus dues-paying members, and numerous well-attended affairs, climaxed by our extremely successful picnic in June, we are not resting on our laurels. The '53-'54 incumbents have been returned to office in toto and plans are already underway for our first general meeting in November. Details are not yet final, but the meeting will likely take the form of a smoker, possibly in conjunction with another alumni group, with brief but interesting talks, entertainment, singing and liquid refreshments in the spotlight.

Definite details of this and a rough schedule of the year's activities will appear in November. In the meantime, we urge all alumni in. the Northern New Jersey area not now receiving our mailings to notify our Secretary (see above) of their correct address. We'll all be very pleased to welcome new members aboard.

Secretary, 7 Beaumont Ter., West Orange, N. J.
