Nearby is the photographic evidence of presence at the June Reunion. Jig, the air- minded youth from the Windy City, couldn't keep his feet on the ground long enough for the group picture but was away on the first possible plane, building up more mileage in his second million. Shortly after the reunion in early July, he was elected President of the National Aeronautical Association, at which time the Chicago Sun and Times said: "Con- gratulations to Louie Leverone, newly elected president of the N.A.A. He's one of the worlds 'most flown' passengers.... one mil- lion miles."
The Charrons—lke and Ida—spent the last Sunday afternoon in August with us. Since his retirement from a half century of daily commuter travel from Wellesley Hills to Boston, his general health stimulated by easy days at home with good care, and the arrival in the family circle of a grand- daughter, all combine to make him, as usual, the prize contributor of good cheer for the reunion in June. The Whistle is working smoothly.
In a June drive for funds for the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, N. H. there were 48 women's teams and Mrs. Daniel C. (Sue to us) Norton's team with $a060.00 headed the list.
The Magistrate from Port Arthur, Ont., Walter Russell, and his good wife were ex- pected to arrive in the States Sept. 11 and we hoped to see them, but that plan failed. They visited Hanover and Plymouth, with reports from mutual friends in both places in- dicating the good health and charm that has brought pleasure to their New Hampshire friends whenever they return home.
The Rolfes, Hayward and Evelyn, were morning visitors on August 24 after spend- ing some vacation days in Hanover. Aside from a golf rash which bothers Hayward less than formerly they are enjoying a care- free life. Congrats to Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity in its choice of Pen Mower as Na- tional President.
In a month's time (Aug. 22 to Sept. 22) Gibson, California; the Rolfes, Mass.; Rus-sells, Canada; Lampee, Mass.; and Burdetts, Vermont, were visitors at the Inn in Hanover. It's a new trend and an encouraging one. The Burdetts are retired and living in Guil- ford Centre, Vt., near Brattleboro.
Ned and Hope Robinson spent the week- end of October 9 with us as Rob was attend- ing the corporation meeting of The Cardi- gan Mountain School; the Johnsons, Beck and Sallie, were up for the I)-HC game, pro- viding an unexpected hour for the Robin- sons, Johnsons and Austins together. Con- versations with the Rollins and Ned Bart-lett who was spending the weekend with Harriet and Mose ('O2) Perkins and getting wised up as to current gossip and doings o£ the freshmen through the impressions of his son, a 1952 member. It's rumored that they took Hanover apart in their first week of residence. Whit and Al Hastings have moved, Hastings to RFD, Mansfield Center, Conn., and Whittemore to 3900 Cathedral Ave., N.W., Washington, D. C. Business address 734 15th St., N.W.
