At a recent Norwich Inn luncheon attended by members of the class of 1945 living in the Upper Valley, a number of issues concerning class finances were brought up at the request of our president, Ted Safford. After much discussion the following decisions were made:
We will once more provide $2,500 to the DCAC for its athletic recruitment efforts.
We will continue to support in the amount of $1,OOO the '49 figure skating club. Further support will depend on need and availability of funds.
No supplemental funds will be given to the '45 endowment fund at this time. The Tucker Foundation and the DOC share interest income equally. The current agreement with the College precludes the use of principal by the beneficiaries except in very special circumstances.
It was agreed that individual memorial benches be installed on the Dartmouth College campus honoring the memories of Nick Sandoe and Cliff Jordan, classmates who worked long and successfully in leadership posts for the Dartmouth Alumni Fund. Bull Hinman and Paul Glover volunteered to serve as class representatives in arranging for installation as soon as possible.
Many thanks to Harry Hampton and Craig Cain for help in reviewing and organizing this material.
