Janet Wentworth shares with us some thoughts expressed by Chapman to all his friends when he knew that his life was coming to an end because of his pulmonary fibrosis: I am Free. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with" remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss. Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Janet is very moved by tie caring and concern shown by Chap's friends and classmates. She gives a special thanks to State Senator Quentin Kopp '49 for his memorial resolution honoring Chap before the California Senate.

Women Axe Concerned Citizens, a San Francisco political group that Chap supported, dedicated a tree to be planted in Chap's memory near the Plaza in Sonoma. They wrote, "Chap was every bit like a big strong tree whose out-stretched limbs provided shelter and a friendly place to gather."

Chap's colleagues at the Northern American Ski Journalists Association, West Region, have named their annual media award the Chapman Wentworth Excellence in Media Relations Award.

Chap Wentworth, gone in peace, with love.
