It would appear that most everyone has endured great heat over the course of the summer. As this is being written, it is about 80° already, and it's only 7:00 a.m.! I'm in New Jersey, but it could be Kansas, Houston, New York, Cape Cod, even Vermont. Phew. I hope that some of you have found some escape somewhere, somehow, other than the air conditioned room. As predicted last spring, GeorgeTrumbull was named president of his company's investment group. George will be spending his time keeping a close watch on Cigna's $47-billion (yikes!!!) portfolio. The thought brings to mind the old Donald Duck comic books, with Uncle Scrooge shoveling around his piles of money. Good luck, George.
John Robison has been named president of Coverbind Corporation in Elmsford, N.Y.John, his wife, Maureen, and his three young Robisons, live in Ridgefield, Conn. Coverbind makes in-office binding systems. John spent 17 years working for Xerox in several places, and moved to Coverbind a couple of years ago.
Bo Anderson was named U.S. director of legal operations for the anti-piracy program of the Motion Picture Association of America. Bo works out of L.A., and will be trying to gain support from local and regional prosecutors for investigating and prosecuting people trying to steal copywritten things, video, cable, and satellite signals. Bo had been working as assistant U.S. attorney in the Central District of California. He's worked in the criminal division and the antitrust division. There is a tollfree hotline number for reporting suspected cable signal, film, or video pirates (1-800NO-COPYS). Seems that would be a good way to get in touch with Bo.
Back to the air conditioner.
