Word of our increasing number of losses continues to come in. The latest, as of this writing, are two loyal classmates: Ross Pearl, who died July 10 in Sandy Springs, Ga., suddenly after a crippling stroke, and Hal Stevens, on July 13 in Bedford, Mass., of Alzheimer's.

Bob Rahmanop, reporting in from Newark, Del., insists that he has no news but is still hanging in there and doing "much of nothing." He sends regards to all of you.

James G. ("Gam") Rogers, writing from his home of many years in Winter Park, Fla., is still busy in architecture and engineering, putting in three and four hours a day at the office in the firm which he founded and which is in the hands of his son Jack, who took over the ball from his old man and is now running with it. Gam was named "Man of the Year" in 1986 by the cities of Winter Park and Orlando, an honor of which he is justly proud. We seem to remember many other earlier honors, too numerous to include here. Gam and Evelyn, his wife of 60 years, are both well and enjoying life.

Bob Sweetser and wife say that they live quietly at their home in Berlin, N.J., he having retired in 1986 from his job as a veterinarian with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. He keeps in quite good health riding a stationary bicycle and. walking his dog. The long drive required to get to Hanover has kept him from our reunions much as he would like to meet classmates, none of whom he has seen lately.

Hal and Margaret Rider, whose home is in Naples, Fla., find it a pleasant change in the summer to take over their son's home in Farmington, Conn., as "caretakers" while the son (he didn't say which son: Don, '51, Wilson, or Robert) rusticates in a summer cottage in Otis, Mass. Hal spends his time gardening, golfing, and seeing a host of his old friends.

The munificent gift by Bob and NaomiBorwell of the Dartmouth Medical School Research Building was celebrated with a luncheon and ceremony in July. Attendants included the Borwells, Abels, Montgomerys, and Larry Leavitt.

Thought for the month (for us old-timers, only): When you're spending more time reflecting than anticipating, you are over the hill.
