REUNION - JUNE 14 to JUNE 16. MARK THE DATE - MAKE YOUR PLANS Now and let's get together to renew acquaintances, make some new ones, participate in some fine programs, and see what a fabulous school Dartmouth is.

In line with our reunion you have all been receiving information on the 15th Reunion giving program undertaken by the Class. This is no attempt for us to be heroes, but stems from a very important need to keep Dartmouth's position of preeminance in the field of higher education. Our goal is ambitious, but very attainable if we all give our contributions serious thought. A large effort this year does not mean we will be asked for a like amount every year. This reunion year is a special one and as such we are all trying to dig a lot deeper. Your executive committee has already made a very substantial commitment and we hope that everyone will do their very best.

Congratulations to Dan Wilder who was married on May 12 to the former Donna Miller. Dan writes, "Having descended from the ranks of the gay and carefree bachelors it is also appropriate that I step down from the ranks of the non-writers of news cards and letters. ... We enjoyed an unbelievably great honeymoon barefoot, chartering a Pearson '35 in the British Virgins. It was over in a flash and Donna returned to being retail department manager at Springs Mills and I to financial manager at Champion International. We located a great house to make home in Mamaroneck, N.Y. and enjoy a good bit of Long Island Sound sailing and assorted other pursuits. Hope to make the 15th next June but in the interim would be delighted to have any passers through or nearby residents from the Green stop in." Among those at the wedding were Paul Jameson, Tom Chatfield '59 Hew Baldwin, and Fred Pitznerbest man). Best wishes, Dan, and thanks for your nice comments - sorry I couldn't get the picture in.

Richard Walker is one of 41 mid-career executives participating in the year-long Stanford-Sloan program at Stanford's Graduate School of Business. The program, which runs for three academic quarters, is a nine-month course of study in advanced management and the humanities for executives who have demonstrated potential for senior level management. Sloan Fellows are sent to the program by their employing organizations, which pay their full tuition and continue their salaries throughout shout the period of study. Sloan fellows study the same core of subjects as students in the MBA program and, in addition, attend seminars in humanities subjects given by senior professors from various departments of the diversity and hold informal meetings with top executives.

News from the back of those dues slips sent along by Bill Van Law helps to keep the column going. By the way, if you haven't paid your dues you can still send them in. Bill also writes that he has moved from Champaign to Decatur, Ill., “have finished remodeling our Decatur store and have moved over here to stop the commuting. Only have to be in Champaign once a week ... looking for new locations for more stores — just to keep life exciting." We are glad to hear Bill and Kay's auto accident was not too serious and that they are both on the mend.

The Joe Stones write from Chicago where Joe is with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals. They report what must be a first for our class, the matriculation of their daughter Barbara in the class of '77 at Dartmouth. “Visited her last week and somehow it just doesn't seem right to see all those girls in the dorms, swimming pool, etc. but I guess I'll make the adjustment in time. As for Barb, she loves it." I guess, Joe, it all depends on your vantage point.

It takes a while to get some news ... A year ago the John Durkin's third child, Michael John was born. John and Mary live in Fayetteville, N.Y.

I will hold the balance of my mail bag until next month so I have something to write about then. Please help "fill the bag up."
