At the Holiday Inn on Lido Beach in cool but sunny Sarasota, the Dartmouth Club held its fourth function of the '72-'73 season on February 21.
Professor Harry Bond '42 of the English Department at Dartmouth spoke to 82 members and guests on the subject of "A View of the College by a Member of the Faculty." His presentation clarified for us some of the doubts that have been troubling this segment of the Sarasota retired community. It did much to bring us up to date. It was pleasant to learn that coeducation has caused no serious deterioration in the learning syndrome on the Dartmouth campus!
His outline of the off-campus schedules and opportunities now available to the present generation continues to cause no little envy in those of us who missed this innovation.
It is certainly worthy of note to direct atention to the fact that among those attending were Roger Brown and Bob Falconer of the Class of '05, Wilbur Bull '09, Pat Maloney '13, and Henry Lowell of '14. This is a marvelous tribute to their devotion to Dartmouth.
February 23 a few of us were privileged to meet and dine with Al Cook '62 and to be briefed on the job program now underway for the off-campus students. This was with the thought of determining the needed structure to permit our Club's participation in the program.
