On December 16 Enrollment Chairman Gerald E. Samuelson '55 held a meeting of fifteen football hopefuls of the Denver area with two boys coming from Boulder. Assistant Coach Anderson gave a fine low-powered talk on the scholastic requirements of the Ivy League and football as played at Dartmouth under Bob Blackman. Coach Tesone of Cherry Creek High School was on hand to assist. Both coaches played on the same championship team at the University of Denver under Bob Blackman. A film strip of the college was shown followed by light refreshments.

Our annual cocktail party was held at the University Club on December 19. Some time back Anson Mark '53 called Pres. JimSwanson '59 for the date of the party. Jim said "the buck is yours" and Anson put on a party that attracted the largest crowd in some years. There were so many there that only a few can be mentioned but it is worthy to note the past Alumni Councillors in attendance headed by Mr. and Mrs. DonCunningham '13, Ev. Parker '16, the JohnCunninghams '18, the Rick Rickenbaughs'28, Cal. Fisher '32, the Don McKinlays '37 and our present councillor and photographer Dr. Seymour Wheelock '40. The hall was decorated with several very clever "Peanuts" posters advertising the Glee Club Concert March 25. Don Jones '43 chairman, and Derrill Trenholm '40, publicity chairman, were busy talking up the party and adding members to the various committees. We were happy to have several visitors especially Lt. Col. Karl Zimmerman '53, a Marine aviator from El Toro, Calif.

On December 20 the Christmas Luncheon was held at the University Club. This lunch is for the best of the prospect list, undergraduates, and alumni. About eighty were in attendance to hear four undergraduate speakers paint the Hanover scene in various hues. Jim Johnson '73 led off telling of the trials and tribulations of a freshman. Cy Allen 3rd '71 elaborated on the difficulty of finding dates but allowed it could be done. Bob Harrington '70, an editor of the "Course Guide," described its objective and the great help it could be to freshmen. The final speaker Brent Coffin '70 gave a polished summary of the College today.

The January luncheon group turned out to hear our Alumni Councillor Dr. SeymourWheelock '40 tell in a most interesting and entertaining manner about the last meeting of the Alumni Council and the Charter Day Celebration. Coeducation was his main theme as he well knew the great interest of the Denver alumni in the subject. There was a sigh of relief when he went on to say that deliberate speed was being used in reaching for the answer. If any, how many?

John Ratigan '61 reported that he was aware of 36 completed applications for the Class of '74 and there were probably more in the works.
