Snow Bunny. Ah, February - a short, but eventful month. It starts with that furry tenant of terra firma breaking his winter's slumber in order to gracefully bow to society on the 2nd. And if he sees Rog Parkinson's shadow hunched over a typewriter, that signals there's only six months to go until we receive our next class newsletter. The 12th finds Honest Abe opening one of his fourscore and seven birthday cards only to discover that a "Dear John" letter has been secretly attached by his Carnival date. Then there's Carnival, St. V's day, and of course, another annual for George W., "Father of our Country," because he slept just about everywhere. Sufficient bafflegab, what about '63?
If no news is good news, then things must be pretty darn good out there amongst the silent majority. But how about letting someone in on all your success - like write. My February gleanings are so emaciated that their collective profiles are thinner than a few '63 hairlines. However, there is news from Steve Rosen. Steve's now back in Chicago with wife Chicki peddling stocks for Goldman, Sachs & Co. Previous to this Steve spent several months in "Fun City" completing G&S's training program. Still single, still kicking, Sherm Bendalin was recently admitted to the Arizona bar and is currently working out with the five-man law team of Gorey & Ely in Phoenix. Hope you win a few cases, Sherm - legal or otherwise.
Owens-Corning Fiberglas, Toledo, Ohio, really knows how to put a guy into orbit. Simply promote him to supervisor of aerospace and defense mar- keting. Yup, "Wire" , Elson will be coordinating the efforts of' research, manufacturing and sales as they apply to these areas. Wire joined Owens-Corning in '68 as a marketing trainee complete with MBA from Cornell. Then he served as a marketing management assistant for the FIM Division (?). Congrats, Barry.
February certainly is a cold month, so let's add a few quick degrees. One for JohnDickey Jr., a Ph.D. from Princeton in June '69. John's now at the Smithsonian AstroPhysics Lab in Cambridge. One for BlairWood, a Juris Doctor degree from Colorado U. in June 1969. And one for Mat WozniakJr., a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the U. of Arizona.
And now by the power vested in me, I hereby announce you husband and wife. Steve Brenner to Sharon Lee Berg of Springfield, Va., on August 31, 1969. Steve is presently a full time doctoral candidate at Harvard Biz School. John Kovas to Kathleen O'Brien in July '69. Sorry, John, but haven't heard what you've been up to since the honeymoon in Mexico.
