During this cold and bleak month of February I wonder how those hardy '60s fare who have returned to Hanover. As a class, we must hold the record for the most employed in Hanover. There are at least five of whom I know.

Dutch Holland, Jake Crouthamel, and John Goyette have been joined by John Baird, who is an assistant professor. John is living at 3 Valley Road. Also, in Hanover Gordon DeWitt recently assumed general supervisory responsibilities for the College outing properties.

The academic environment has had a strong pull for a number of our other classmates. Carol Berkowitz reports that her husband, Ed, is now a research associate in the Physics Department at Notre Dame University. Ken Hillner is connected with the Psychology Department at Indiana University in Gary. Perhaps he will write to let us know if his connection is student, teacher or subject.

Marty Andic is now an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Tufts University, Medford, Mass. In nearby Needham High, Needham, Mass., Peter Brightman is holding forth as an English teacher. Jim Nolan is happily ensconced as a teaching assistant at Washington State University in Pullman, Wash. To wrap up this survey of our ivory tower representation, consider the fact that Rusty Ingersoli, who used to look pretty menacing on the rink in Hanover, is now chaplain and instructor at St. Paul's School, Concord, N. H.

As Axel reported earlier this year, DenGoodman has joined the State Department. According to Borden Powers, Den and Laura Beth are about to be assigned to our embassy in Caracas, Venezuela. David Segal is also connected with the Department of State. He is in the Office of Soviet Union Affairs.

Borden Powers also reported that Dave Farfan married Brenda Gibbon in Trinidad on December 21. From Borden's description of her, it is hard to understand how Dave remained single so long. He is still playing rugby, but I am sure that did not slow him down. Nat Gorton, Borden's other Hanover roommate, told him that he and Judy hit six of Dartmouth's football games this past season and were sure no one else in the Class could top that.

I picked up all of this news from Borden at the Manufacturers Hanover Bank in New York where he has recently been made an assistant secretary. By coincidence, Bill Langley's promotion to assistant vice president at the bank was announced on the same day.

Joel Alvord is also in banking. Joel is an assistant vice president at the Hartford National Bank. Roger Stephenson writes that he was in the field of finance in Hartford, too. For three years he was the treasurer of the Bachelors' Club of Hartford. Roger has been transferred by Fuller Brush Co. to Cleveland where he takes on the job of Branch Manager, He is living at 21255 Detroit Road, Rocky River, Ohio.

Frank Bitmap was kind enough to jot down some news in his Christmas card. He married Beverly Dingman October 7, 1967. Beverly was formerly an airline stewardess, whom Frank says he met "somewhere over Kansas." John Reimer is another happy newlywed. He and Lynne Welk of Nyack, N. Y., were married April 22, 1967.

John writes that he is working out of the New York office of Peter J. McBreen and Associates, aviation insurance adjusters. He is taking flying lessons "to keep up with the trade " He shares an interest in music with Lynne. For the past three years John has been taking four to five lessons a week in singing opera. John and Lynne live at 220 Weft Jersey St., Elizabeth, N. J.

In December it was announced that Dr. Charles Flickinger of the University of Colorado's Institute of Developmental Biology has received the National Institute of Health Research Career Development Award The award totals five years of Salary for Charles, and is designed to promote careers in health-related research and to encourage institutions to expand their research staffs. His recent work has included research on the origin and development and the interrelationships of cytoplasmic membranes, primarily with endoolasmic reticulum and Golgic apparatus. I think you should get an award if you understand any of that.

Earlier in the year, Bryant Barnes made the news He was made a general partner of H. O. Peet & Co. in Kansas City. In addition to continuing as a registered representative, he will serve as secretary of Financial Counselors, Inc.

Jim Adler's wife reports that Jim is still with Compton Advertising in New York City where he currently is an account manager on Gleem toothpaste. The big news in that family was- the arrival of Joshua James on August 3, 1967.

Jim should contact Joel Black, D.D.S., for a little field testing of his product. Joel graduated from Tufts Dental School in 1964 After two years at Fort Hood he opened an office in his home town of Beverly Mass. The Blacks have been no slouches in the family department either. Robin, age 4, and Steve, 2½, were joined by Stephanie on July 4.

Soon, Seth Strickland will be asking many of us to lend a hand in the Alumni Fund drive. This is a big job. Try to find some time to help Seth with this by being a local class agent. It does not take much time and you can pick up some news to pass along to me.
