The Dartmouth Club of Tidewater held its winter meeting at the Commodore Maury Hotel in downtown Norfolk in late January. Still in the rapid expansion process, the Club welcomed new members in good Southern style: CDR. Bill Williams '50, Blue Crew Captain of the Polaris Submarine Sam Rayburn; LTjg Pete Blyler '61;John Damon '61; LTjg Dick Hauptmann'63; and Don Curless '63.
Club President John Ryan '58 announced that the Dartmouth Glee Club will appear at the Norfolk Civic Center on March 25. Ernie Ball '43 and Burton Sherwood '30 are handling the organization in cooperation with Norfolk's Optimists. Club Publicity Director Bill Blue '61 is handling TV and radio spot announcements plus newspaper coverage. An excellent turnout is expected.
John Ryan proudly announced the arrival of "junior Miss Ryan #2" on January 13 with both mother and daughter in tip-top condition. In addition, Ryan, Jeff Swain '64, and Dave Rice '58 have all been participating on the newly organized Norfolk Rugby Football Club.
Invitations are extended to all Big Green travelers to stop by the world's largest vacationland "Virginia Beach" and give us all a call. The spring meeting will be held in Newport News and hosted by John Sewall '42, vice president in Hampton-Newport News.
