Your secretary hereby and herewith commences his tenth year as 1923's recorder of vital statistics. It was a jolt when he woke up at the end of reunion to find he was committed to six more years. But the experience is highly rewarding and will continue to be a happy one as long as the news letters and grapevines function as they are doing this summer.

Lou Wilcox and his sub-agents deserve a Wah-Hoo-Wah for 1923's mighty $40,000 plus. But really, we are only approaching the position we should be in and we must go-ahead this next spring in a mighty effort to catch up and eclipse 1925.

Ted Caswell and his 40th reunion committee deserve all the superlatives in the dictionary. Letter after letter has come in to the secretary's office - all containing enthusiastic words of praise for Ted and Co. We must restore our mid-winter reunions in Hanover. Six years is too long to wait for our next stated reunion.

Fred Davis, the reunion treasurer, turned over a balance of $531.00 to the Alumni Fund in memory of our deceased classmates or $3.00 each.

Since Reunion: The sky around Andover, Mass., has been saturated with smoke signals proclaiming the fact that Herb Veit, senior Vice-President of the Andover Companies, has been with this group of insurance companies for forty years. Herb manages the field department of this highly respected insurance company which operates in 32 states, up from six when Herb joined the company; there are now 300 agents, up from 32 in 1923.

1923 Buffet Dinner; November 23, after Princeton game, Old Hights Hotel, Hightstown, N. J. Roast Beef - Turkey - Lobster a la Newburg. For further information write R. LeRoy Height, Height, Inc., Hightstown, N. J.

The above is being arranged by Roy Height and Jack Myers. The hotel is at the dead-end of the Princeton-Hightstown Road headed for the N. J. Turnpike. A private dining room and bar are being provided for 1923. This is a good opportunity to continue our "40." If the weather is too bad for the boys to see the game, they can still have a reunion. Roy adds that guests of '23 men will be more than welcome.

Pete Jones has been so busy since reunion with a new plant in Lewiston, Me., making hand-sewn loafers that he and Peg have had but a one-week sailing cruise this summer.

Sammy Sammis reports Roy Brown has purchased a farm in Connecticut, about 50-60 miles south of Pittsfield, near New Milford.

Paul and Marjorie Morgan spent four days at Bald Peak Colony Club on Lake Winnipesaukee after reunion. Ken and Jeannette Quencer were with them. The Quencers proved to be superior to the Morgans at the bridge table, winning 14 out of 16 rubbers.

In July, Marjie and Win Weser visited Dorothy and Dick Kershaw at their Hidden House in Old Lyme, Conn. Win notes, Hidden House has charms which definitely cannot be hidden, for this converted country house simply reeks, indoors and out, of New England antiquity. The Wesers have a cottage "Sunnyside," on Lake St. Catherine, Vt. Here one may find them every weekend.

Karl and Lee Klaren were in Los Angeles in early September for the marriage of their son Peter '60 to Sara Castro y Rivas of Lima, Peru. Both of the young people are graduate students at U.C.L.A.

Jim and Ruth Landauer followed up reunion with a combination business and pleasure trip to Scotland, Ireland, and England. Jim is now president of the Real Estate Board of New York as per an announcement in June by its board of governors.
