The Alumni Association of Long Island held its second annual scholarship fund dance on February 9. In spite of the fact that it was the worst night of the winter on Long Island about eighty hardy Green and their squaws braved the snow to the Garden City Casino for the festivities. Committee chairman John Wolff '32 reported that the turnout was below last year due to the bad weather. Doc Higgins '35 was the master of ceremonies of the evening and supervised the award of the door prizes which ranged from a tennis racket to low calorie apple sauce. John Comehlson '29 led the group in the singing of Dartmouth songs while Carll Buhler '30 entertained on the banjo.

The next event on the local scene is the Glee Club Concert to be held at the Garden City High School on March 31. Committee chairman Skip Kerr '57 has appointed all his subcommittee chairmen and they are already hard at work. These include HapJohnston '26 in charge of the program, TedGirault '27 leading the telephone committee, Bill Muller '33 rounding up housing accommodations, Bob Jarbeau '36 in charge of ticket sales, and Len Harrison '34 in charge of publicity. A post concert party will be held at the Palm Room at the Garden City Hotel. Tickets for this concert have been going fast and all who intend to go should send in their wampum right away.

A nominating committee was appointed at the regular February meeting of the Association. Wally Rushmore '32 was appointed chairman and Gordon McKeman '42 and Larry Schwartz '58 will also serve. The officers for next year will be elected at the Annual Meeting in May.

Bill Colton '60, treasurer, reports that dues are running behind last year and he is urging all to send in their payments soon.
