As visual proof of the versatility of scope and depth of purpose of the Dartmouth graduate we are enclosing a picture of Maurice W. Baruth Esq. '45, Commander of the Amvets. Maury has been very active here in Pittsburgh and when last contacted was on his way to Harrisburg to tell the legislature how to levy a tax to pay the veteran's bonus without creating hardship for another segment of the economy.

As plans go under way for the next picnic, we have a belated report on the last one. In the words of President Ralph D. Lynch Jr. '52, "The picnic was a howling success, as usual, and I was having a great time until I excused myself for five minutes and came back to find I had been elected President. At that I guess I am lucky. Chuck Queenan'52 bent over to tie his shoelace and came erect as the new Treasurer." Actually, the life of an officer in this club is pretty soft because the senior committee of GeorgeScott '25, Ed Chinlund '29, Bill Hinkel '33 and Nate Parker '26, have things well under control.

We missed the annual alumni football game when veteran Dale Armstrong '46 spearheaded an "act your age" campaign which spelled doom to this time honored event.

The club was proud and happy to learn that center Bob Virostek '60 will not be playing football next year because he has been admitted to Medical School. There's nothing better than having a few doctors around to pick up the tab when the treasury assumes its usual depleted condition.

The social swirl this winter has been indeed rare. One of the highlights was an allnight cocktail party at President Lynch's, ably hosted by his charming wife Judy, with entertainment provided by the Goodfry twins, Mac Lynch '54 and Ron Rose '52.

SNAPSHOTS: Ed Chinlund '29, and Nate Parker '26, with their heads together plotting the surgical extractions required if the Campaign Fund is to succeed. Bill Hinkel '33, masterminding another successful year of high school student interviewing. George Scott '25, and Wayne Komara '53, doing a little interviewing of their own with quarter-backs, fullbacks, ends and centers.
