There appeared in the Carmel (Calif.) PineCone a series of articles, "The Days of the Dons," by J. William MacLennan of Carmel. They were a very interesting account of the life in California previous to 1846, and the submergence of the old families when the U.S. took over.

French, Kenerson and Edwards were in Hanover for the September 11 weekend. A note from Bolz said that he and Kenie reminisced into wee small hours. Wish I had been there.

Had a letter from Peerade Drown. He was in the Adirondacks, as usual, and enjoying himself.

This column cannot print any news unless you send it in. Perhaps we will have to start to reminisce ourselves.
