BEN WILLIAM'S new book Leave Her toHeaven is out, has been widely reviewed, is now listed among the best sellers. In discussing it, Ben wrote, "As a younger man I had thought that stark drama rarely touched normal lives; as I grew older I discovered my mistake. So in this novel, basically a psychological study of jealousy, the most extreme dramatic situations are found."
CONGRATULATIONS TO DINNY PRATT—now Major Everard S. Pratt! Nineteen-ten's ORNITHOLOGICAL GROUP is going strong in the Twin Cities Ken and Ora Phelps, Mike Elliott, Bill and Ella Taylor have joined with Easty in bird walks and tours, and if they keep up with that bundle of enthusiasm who was born in Fort Ann, N. Y., they'll know they've been somewhere. Thus far, orioles, yellow-headed black birds, terns, mallards, grebes, coots, warblers have been on their list for special attention. Our knowledge of birds is rough and sketchy, but with Marion's better-than-average assistance, we have found that the country is infinitely more interesting when you add birds, their habits, their colors, to foliage and topographical beauty of Nature itself. In other words, you can see and enjoy just about twice as much when in the country.

You FELLOWS know Andy Scarlett as a successful chemistry professor, author, golfer and Whiz Bang Class Agent who is raising some $6,000 this year—but you don't know him as a neophyte agriculturalist who, according to. a neighbor and family friend of long standing, has "some of the most beautiful potatoes you ever saw." We're not mentioning the neighbor's name, for although a bunch of you fellows know her, you might question her abil- ity to appraise good potato tops. However, in pressing The Old Maestro tonight, we did get an admission that he had a good crop in his single row and might be looking for customers this fall but that's Andrew Jackson Scarlett (b. W. Boylston, Mass., Mar. 17, 1889) .... doggone good, doggone thorough in whatever he undertakes .... and Nineteen-Ten owes him another chunk of gratitude for the grand Alumni Fund job he just finished— in raising $6,000—an incredible sum a few years back.
