It was a great pleasure to attend the meeting of Class Secretaries and Class Agents at Hanover June 9 and 10 to consider the status of the Alumni Fund of which the College is so much in need in this critical hour of wartime conditions and changes.

All members of these associations greatly appreciate the courtesy extended to us as guests of the College and the magnificent result attained in the drive for the Alumni Fund may no doubt have been helped in no small degree by the inspiring influence of a visit to the good old College and the scene of old associations and cherished memories of our college days, to say nothing of breathing again the invigorating air of old New Hampshire.

The overwhelming success of the Fund by $30,000 over and above the objective hoped for is a splendid testimonial of the love and loyalty of our Alumni and friends of the College and an encouraging assurance that in times of need when financial aid is necessary as President Hopkins truly said "No one who knows the Dartmouth Alumni will admit a doubt" but what it will be forthcoming, and to old Dartmouth we heartily give again Dick Hovey's toast "Here's luck in the teeth of all winds blowing."

In connection with his contribution to the Alumni Fund, we learn that the condition of our Classmate Prof. N. W. Sanborn of the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, now on the retired role of that institution, is considerably improved in health.

Several years ago he suffered a severe illness from which recovery has been slow, but we are glad to learn his improvement continues so that he and his wife are able to enjoy life in his new home, recently acquired, with his dogs and Rhode Island Reds.

Last year in December with a fine gathering of friends and relatives they greatly enjoyed the celebration of their sixtieth wedding anniversary.
