While enjoying my usual September vacation deep in the wilds of the Maine Woods, there was forwarded from my office a letter from William Isaac Clarke Smith, who is a contender with "Davie" of Chicago, for the title of "The Great American Traveller."

Will's letter came too late to be included in the October Notes, but in it he gives a very interesting account of a trip he had just taken across the Continent of Africa. He writes that his African cruise was the most enjoyable he has ever made and he has been around the world once or twice, cruised among the South Sea Islands visited South America—spent many years on the European Continent and is wondering if he is the only member of the Class of 'BO to fly over the World's famed Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River. If any of our surviving classmates have ever flown over this stupendous waterfall, which he characterizes as the grandest he has ever seen far exceeding our own Niagara in height, grandeur and power, he would like to get in touch with them and compare notes.

He enjoyed Africa so much, he says the desire to revisit the Continent is strong within him to traverse the same route again. Unless he is able to suppress this desire the chances are we may hear again of some further African trip.

In his letter he states he has nothing personal to recount more than to say he is well and able to enjoy life in a quiet way. Sufficiently interested in what is going on in the world with no political ambitions or anything to interfere with his desire to see as much of the world as possible.

He is already planning to attend our next Reunion in June 1940 and intends i£ he is alive and physically able to make the trip to Hanover, for what in all probability will be our last Reunion.

He sends kindest regards and best wishes to all classmates.

And now Classmates who have not yet replied to my last letter requesting information about yourselves—please do so at once.
