A new book which has been receiving high praise since its publication is "West Point Today," by Kendall Banning. The Readers' Digest for January contains an article condensed from the book under the title of "Sportsmanship De Luxe." "West Point Today" is an intimate description of West Point life as experienced by a cadet from the time that he enters the Academy until he graduates. Banning has the advantage of having a son, William G., who is now a second-classman at the Academy, so that he has been able to get a closer viewpoint than might be had by one wholly outside. The Secretary has written to Banning, who is living at Old Lyme, Conn., and who reports that he is spending his time in magazine and book work. He says that Elderkin dropped in on him a few days ago.
