Ajax Rollins and his wife have moved into the Prince George Hotel, New York, for the balance of the winter. Ninety-four men in New" York and those passing through there, please take notice.
Moreover, Ajax has just been elected president of the Superintendents Conference of the Congregational and Christian Churches for the ensuing year, and has been re-elected president of the New York State Council of Churches and Religious Education.
Being able to intermit the long journey between New York Gity and White Plains during these trying winter months will undoubtedly give Ajax the strength necessary to do his duty in this new job, and to continue doing his duty in the old job. Of course, incidentally, he still serves as Congregational bishop for the state of New York, including New York City.
One of the livest of the live wires among association secretaries is B. L. Winslow of the Dartmouth Association of Northern California. One of the ways in which he shows his alertness is by sending his "Squeaks" to the class secretaries. This class secretary has now in front of him the directory of Mr. Winslow's association. It contains the names, occupations, business addresses, residence addresses, and telephone numbers of five '94 men. These men are as follows:
J. IRVING REED, who teaches in the Sonora Union High School, Sonora, Calif., and resides at 1129 Washington St., in that town.
FITZHUGH S. ROLLINS, retired, 1818 Union St., Alameda.
EDWARD F. RUGGLES, civil engineer with the U. S. Bureau of Public Roads, 461 Market St., San Francisco. Residence, 21 Hillway Ave.
MAJOR ELMER S. TENNF.Y, retired, 2950 Van Ness Ave., San Francisco.
JAMES A. TOWNSEND, Pacific Coast advertising manager of the Butterick Company, 1207 Hobard Bldg. Residence, go The Uplands, Berkeley.
Jimmie's two sons, Edward S. '19, and J. Richard '23, must also be included. Edward represents Publishers' Advertising, with office and residence in San Francisco. Richard is an attorney, with office in San Francisco and residence at home.
It is understood that any '94 man who ventures into San Francisco without looking up this group is likely to become a comrade of Tom Mooney in the San Quentin Penitentiary.
By and large, during the years, the fact that the Class Secretary was a minister has doubtless added to the attendance of the members of the class at church. When the Secretary preaches in a city or town the members of the class residing there feel that loyalty to the class demands their attendance. The latest illustration of this was our good friend Frank Griffin, who acted as guide, philosopher, and friend to the Secretary during a recent Sunday visit to Haverhill, Mass.
Secretary, 14 Beacon St., Boston
