Gilbert Balkam is now manager of the New Business and Analysis Departments of the Quincy Trust Company. At a recent New England Bank Management Conference held under the auspices of the New England Council Gilbert gave a talk on the subject, "Analysis of Unprofitable Accounts —Metered Service Charge." It was a very important speech and some notable men preceded and followed Gilbert. His new line of work is certainly a most interesting one.

Gilbert's oldest boy, Stephen, is with the W. T. Grant Company and is in line for an appointment as store manager or assistant ant district manager for this company. He is now in the Los Angeles territory. His daughter Lucelia was graduated from the Framingham Teachers' College, and now is in charge of menu planning and restaurant management work at the Wellesley Inn in Wellesley.

Gilbert's second boy, Gilbert Jr., is a freshman at Dartmouth, while Robert, the youngest, is in the Ouincy Tunior High School.

Harry Jenkins is now retired but evidently enjoying himself thoroughly. Reading, hiking, and gardening occupy most of his spare time. He has three grandchildren. He is living at the same place in Auburndale. His younger son, Hubert, was married on September 17, 1933, so every one of Harry's children is settled now.

Harry Fairfield states that the most momentous event to him during the past year was the death of Calvin Coolidge. Harry worked with him when he was president of the Senate in 1914-15 and as assistant secretary when he was governor in 1919-20. The association was very real and very close. Of course Harry is now serving the chief justice and associate justices of the Supreme Judicial Court in a confidential capacity and has been doing so since 1923. Harry's oldest boy, Wallace, is in Tufts Engineering School. Donald is studying at the Boston University School of Business Administration, while Paul is a senior at the Quincy High School. All these chaps are six-footers, and Harry states are quite able to take care of their dad.

It is interesting for classmates to know that Paul Wilson is the husband of Frances Perkins, who is mentioned so prominently in the public life of New York. Her name has been in the press several times as a possible cabinet officer under Presidentelect Roosevelt.

A wire has just been received stating that Herbert L. Trull has been elected a member of the Tewksbury School Board. He is the only new member elected to this office. The vote he received was double that of his opponent. If we remember correctly this is the second time that Herbie has served his town in this capacity.
