The annual meeting and dinner of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of New York was held at the Plaza on February 3, where more than one-third of the Association members were present. The actual number was 520, exceeding any previous attendance figure for the annual dinner.
Plans for a Dartmouth family party were perfected through the cooperation of President Hopkins and speakers from Hanover and other alumni. No outside speakers were present. President C. K. Woodbridge '04 of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of New York presided. The speakers were President Ernest Martin . Hopkins, Rev. John T. Dallas, Professor Leon B. Richardson, and Lewis Parkhurst of the board of trustees. Mr. Franklin McDuffee '21 read his poem, which won for him the Newdigate prize while a Rhodes scholar at Oxford.
The distinguished guests who occupied seats of honor at the head table with President Woodbridge of the Association were Right Rev. Ethelbert Talbot '70, Rev. John T. Dallas, Mr. Henry B. Thayer '79, Mr. Lewis Parkhurst '78, Dr. Ernest Martin Hopkins '01, Mr. John Drew, Mr. Charles C. DuBois '91, Professor Leon B. Richardson '00, and Mr. Franklin McDuffee '21. The musical program was filled by Roger Bird '22, Harry McDevitt '07, Fred Child 'IS, and a double quartet.
The annual meeting of the Association was held during the evening, and the following officers elected: President, Charles K. Woodbridge '04; vice-presidents, George F. Hardy '88 and Harry R. Heneage '07; secretarytreasurer, Warren F. Kimball '11; governing board, term expiring 1928, Leslie W. Snow '12, Stanley B. Jones '18, and Arthur W. Stockdale '20; committee on nominations, term expiring 1928, Malcolm Stearns 08.
