Chase, Rollins, and Woodworth were in Europe during the summer—Chase in Italy, Rollins in England, and Woodworth variously about the Continent.

Merrill Boyd is assistant superintendent of the Bonding Department of the Employers Liability Assurance Corporation, Ltd. (Note the "Assurance." This is English, and Merrill is employed by the Britishers.) Boston is the headquarters of the Employers Liability in America. In tone with the English background, Merrill had a month's vacation this summer, part of it on Grand Manan Island, off the coast of New Brunswick, part of it on Little John's Island in Casco Bay.
