The following inscription is upon the memorial fountain in Post Office Square, Boston, which has recently been set up and will be formally dedicated in the spring: "In Memory of George Thorndike Angell, 1823-1909. Erected in memory of George Thorndike Angell by the school children of Boston, by the city of Boston, and by the societies he founded—the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the American Humane Educational Society."

Rebecca (Putnam), widow of Rev. Dr. Alonzo H. Quint of this class and mother of Wilder D. Quint '87, died in Worcester, Mass., January 3, of pneumonia, at the age of 83.
